Eight years in content creation have shaped me, but as a research artist in Durga Puja themes, I find my soul in writing—an art that transcends.

Amidst the vibrant swirls of crayons, the bold strokes of crayons, and the playful experiment of glitter, the Children’s Art Exhibition 2025, organized by the COG India Art Gallery is more than an art display, it’s a celebration of boundless imagination and young voices. Divided into two age groups, 4-8 years and 8-12 years. Though this was the fifth edition of the Children’s art exhibition, the excitement for organizing this, was a joyful exploration the way it was in the first. The way these children see the world offers an unparalleled opportunity mainly for stepping into their colourful universes.

Why a Children’s Art Exhibition?

Children are born artists. Untouched by adult norms, their view of the world is full of uniqueness. Their artwork conveys a purity and complexity that is sometimes overlooked, whether a 5-year-old painting of a snowman as blue as the sky or creating creative interpretations of feelings.

However, why hold an exhibition? Why not save these works of art in refrigerators or sketchbooks? Though at this point of age, the kids can gather their ideas, knowledge not only from their drawing teachers but also from their friend’s circle. The participants of this exhibition are from all over the country, the skillset, style, method of painting is completely different from one another. Hence, COG India Art have thought to honour this creativity through this art exhibition. Their work is more than just play; it’s how they think, comprehend, and make a difference in the world.

“Children’s art is often their first language of self-expression,” says Jawhar Sircar, former MP of Rajya Sabha, the inaugurating guest, attending the exhibition. “It’s not just about drawing; it’s about storytelling, problem-solving, and dreaming aloud.”

An exhibition demonstrates to children that their ideas are valued and recognizes their efforts. It builds pride, confidence, and inventiveness in the kids as well as in their families and communities.

A Mood of Celebration

The Children’s Art Exhibition 2025, by COG Art Gallery is not just an exhibition; it’s a festive carnival of colors and creativity. The venue is alive with the chatter of excited children, proud parents, and intrigued visitors. Paintings are framed and hung at child-eye level, allowing even the youngest participants to proudly point out, “That’s mine!”

With walls covered with colorful paintings, hallways lined with creative sculptures, and interactive areas where guests can try their hand at art, the exhibition space is a creative explosion. As people marvel at how a 5-year-old artist caught the spirit of a wet day or how a 14-year-old artist approached issues like climate change with breath-taking maturity, laughter, and amazement are in the air.

One of the guests’ remarks, “You can feel the energy.” “It’s more than just an art exhibition; it’s like entering a children-made dreamscape.”

Why Frame and Display the Artworks are Necessary?

A child’s creativity is validated concretely when they see their artwork reproduced and shown in a gallery. “I felt like a real painter when I saw my painting was framed,” says 7-year-old Soutrik Roy.

It serves as a memento for parents and guardians—a moment captured in time, a glimpse of their child’s development and creativity. Additionally, it serves as a potent reminder to viewers that art, regardless of the artist’s age, can convey feelings and narratives.

Consider hanging your child’s painting in your living room after it has been framed. It turns into a focal point of happiness and pride, serving as a constant reminder of their individuality and inventiveness. It is more than simply a decoration; it is a narrative that is brought to life on your wall by their aspirations.
