Visual India - A photography exhibition - COG India Art

Visual India

Visual India is an open photography exhibition that brings together diverse ways of seeing the country through people, places, everyday moments, traditions, and the natural world.

The exhibition is designed to be inclusive and accessible. Participants are invited to submit photographs across three broad categories, allowing both creative freedom and thematic clarity.

1. Open

(All forms of photography)

This category welcomes a wide range of photographic approaches, including portraits, street photography, travel, conceptual work, architecture, abstract images, and experimental visual expression. It is intended as an open space for photographers to present their strongest work without restrictive boundaries.

2. Culture

(People, traditions & everyday life)

This category focuses on the social and cultural life of India. Photographs may include festivals, rituals, performances, community gatherings, daily routines, work, public spaces, and lived traditions. The emphasis is on moments that reflect identity, belonging, memory, and shared experience.

3. Wildlife & Nature

(Animals, habitats & the natural world)

This category is dedicated to the beauty and diversity of the natural world. Submissions may include wildlife, birds, landscapes, forests, rivers, ecological moments, and nature-based environments. Photographs should reflect observation, sensitivity, and a meaningful engagement with life beyond the human world.

About the Exhibition

Together, these categories create a broad and welcoming platform for photographic expression. Open encourages individual vision and experimentation, Culture reflects the richness of human life and tradition, and Wildlife & Nature brings attention to the landscapes and living worlds that surround us. The exhibition as a whole aims to present a wide and inclusive visual portrait of India.
