Partha Pratim Deb, a celebrated sculptor and painter born in the Sylhet District of Bangladesh in 1943, is renowned for his groundbreaking artwork that ingeniously blends pulp, terracotta, glass and discarded materials. He studied at Kala Bhavana in Santiniketan during which time he gained inspiration from Nandalal Bose, Benode Behari Mukherjee and K G Subramanyan. His later works transcended traditional artistic conventions to align with contemporary art movements on an international level whilst creating something entirely new - showcasing a common vision between East and West. The artist continues working out of Kolkata today.
