Sanjoy Banerjee was born in 1966 in Kolkata, India. After completing his diploma from the Birla Academy of Fine Arts, he participated in more than 80 group shows and 6 solo shows in various cities across India. He has also been awarded 6 National Awards, including the prestigious Indra Dugar Best Water Colour Award from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, in 2011 and the Rajya Charukala award from the West Bengal Government in 2001.

Banerjee was also invited to many national and International camps like the Kerala National Water Colour Camp (2019), 'Kala Samannay’16 held at Deoghar by the Jharkhand Government, etc. Sanjoy is a highly accomplished artist whose works have been exhibited extensively and have won several awards, both nationally and internationally. Sanjoy lives and works in Kolkata.
