Ankita Dutta is an emerging artist whose work is a fusion of her scientific background, obtained through a B.Sc. Zoology (Hons), and her artistic training at the Indian Society of Oriental Art College. Her artistic expression is predominantly focused on the exploration of relationships and connections. Through her artistic lens, Dutta seeks to uncover the intricate bondings that exist in our world - be it between individuals or the seemingly simplistic relationships between inanimate objects such as pots and trees. This theme of interconnectedness forms the backbone of her artistic narrative, resulting in pieces that evoke contemplation about our interconnected world. Dutta's journey in the art world has been marked by her active participation in numerous significant exhibitions. Beginning with her inaugural exhibition at the Janus Art Gallery, Kolkata in 2018, Dutta's work has made appearances at renowned platforms such as ICCR Kolkata, Birla Academy, and Nandalal Bose Art Gallery. Her participation in the Kolkata Art Fair at ICCR in 2023, followed by the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, are particularly noteworthy, cementing her presence in Kolkata's art scene. Complementing her exhibitions, Dutta has invested time in enriching her artistic knowledge and skills by attending workshops. These include programs by Moner Milon and Scarlet India at ICCR Kolkata in 2022, and sessions organized by R.S.C in Maniktala and SwitchON Foundation in Burdwan in 2023. With mixed media, pen, and ink as her preferred artistic tools, Dutta continues to create artwork that stimulates reflection on our shared existence and the bonds that hold us together.
