I am Ujan Ray, a photography enthusiast and learner. I have been doing photography for around three and a half years now. I fell in love with the art of capturing moments way before I got an actual DSLR in my hands. Instagram was my main source of learning and motivation, it still is. At first I used to capture anything and everything I could, then gradually my interest became more specific and now I mainly focus on street photography and festival documentations. If I get a chance to document any kind of festival that's happening within my reach, I rush to that place without thinking twice. Not only do I capture the frames using every possible knowledge I gathered throughout the years, but I also try my best to live in the moment while documenting. I try to capture the raw essence of the place itself which I am capturing. The main thing that circulates in my mind while documentation is that I must find an angle or perspective which will stand out from the other photographs of that same place. For this, I usually take a look at some photos of that place beforehand just to ensure I don't repeat the same old angles in my own ones. For street photography, I generally don't take permission or let the person know that I am capturing him/her, to get that candid shot. I personally don't like artificial poses at all. Though sometimes I do go for some staged portraits but they are usually my least favourites. That's being said, I hope my photographs bring some value to the other enthusiasts and I will try my best to cultivate my skills more and more in the future.
