My journey into photography began when I first held a professional DSLR, thanks to my best friend’s father, a photographer whose creativity and open-mindedness deeply inspired me. Fascinated by how a camera could reveal vibrant colors in near darkness, I was drawn to capturing moments that captivate and provoke thought. Though photography began as a hobby alongside my passion for music, it evolved into a personal mission during my time abroad, where I faced challenges that shaped my perspective. Experiencing racism pushed me to celebrate the “different shades of brown” and showcase beauty beyond the surface. Armed with my trusty Canon 600D, I strive to create art that connects and resonates. For me, photography is a way to rebel against convention and tell stories that matter. I’m excited to share my work in this exhibition, hoping to reach an audience that values meaning over recognition.
