Sayan Bhandary, a CGI artist from Howrah, has delved into street photography as a creative escape from his digital realm. Starting just 1.5 years ago, Sayan embarked on this self-taught journey with a focus on capturing the unpolished essence of street life. He experiments with film photography, specifically using 120mm and 35mm black and white film, to maintain authenticity and a raw, unfiltered aesthetic in his work. Inspired by the stark, powerful storytelling seen in classic black and white films by renowned directors like Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen, Sayan strives to document the everyday lives of people, bringing the simple yet profound narratives of the streets into the spotlight. Through his lens, he not only explores the art of film photography but also preserves the fleeting moments of daily hustle, showcasing them in a timeless format.
