Kuntal Paul is mainly a travel photographer, based in Bhubaneswar - the Temple City of India. He holds an LRPS distinction from The Royal Photographic Society, AFIP from Federation of Indian Photography and AFIAP from International Federation of Photographic Art. His images have been accepted in various international salons recognized by PSA (Photographic Society of America), FIP (Federation of Indian Photography) and FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art). His image of Spotted Indian Deer shot at Nandan Kanan Zoological Garden (Bhubaneswar) was among the top ten entries in Sony World Photography Awards 2012 under Nature & Wildlife category. Entered final round of Travel Photographer of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Received Honourable Mention in International Photography Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Recently one of his images titled 'Life on Khuri' won a Silver in Asia Pacific Photography Award 2025 organized by New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP).
