I have always been fascinated by the idea of living a simple life, within nature and in harmony with nature. For many years, I worked in the corporate sector in Germany, pursuing photography only as an occasional hobby. But I always longed to visit remote tribes and cultures to document their simply way of life, which remains deeply connected to Mother Nature. In 2022, I finally quit my job in Germany and moved to a remote village called Urgam Valley, nestled in the Indian Himalayas at an altitude of 2,300 meters. Since then, I have been documenting the lives of the villagers, focusing on their daily routines. I am particularly inspired by the incredible physical strength and mental resilience of the women in the community. Despite their rather harsh lifestyle, they have the brightest smiles and most glowy cheeks I have ever seen, radiating joy and kindness. I look forward to continuing my personal photography project, capturing the essence of these extraordinary, resilient, and joyful villagers living in the heart of the Indian Himalayas.
