Joydeep Mukherjee, based in Kolkata, India, embarked on his photography journey in 2003 during a transformative trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. This experience sparked a deep-seated passion for capturing moments that narrate the vibrancy of life through the lens. For Joydeep, photography is as essential as breathing, a vital expression of his existence. Dedicated to mastering his craft, Joydeep has participated in numerous workshops conducted by distinguished figures in international photography. His philosophy centers on the belief that true art must maintain a consistent standard of excellence. His photography transcends traditional aesthetics, serving as a conduit for meaningful stories. Each of his photographs is a carefully crafted narrative, aimed at resonating with thoughtful viewers and evoking a profound understanding of the moment captured. Throughout his career, Joydeep’s work has gained international recognition, featuring in esteemed publications such as Photojournale in China, Life Force Magazine in the UK, BBC News, Feature Shoot in the USA, Quint Magazine, Dodo Magazine, and 121 Clicks. He has also showcased his work at five international photo festivals across India, China, Belgium, and Bangladesh, further establishing his footprint in the global photography landscape. In addition to his personal achievements, Joydeep has been an influential mentor to aspiring photographers since 2012 through his initiative “Click Start From Kalighat” (CSFK). This program has nurtured numerous photographers, helping them achieve acclaim in the field. Currently, he also serves as the Chief Editor and Mentor at FOTOJAJS, an e-magazine dedicated to photography, where he continues to guide and inspire through various workshops in iconic locations like Pushkar Fair, Sonpur Fair, Ladakh, Varanasi, Purulia, and Kumbha.
