Welcome to the Children Art Exhibition: Chapter-4 in Kolkata. We are thrilled to invite young artists from across the country to showcase their creativity and talent in this exciting event taking place from July 19 to July 21, 2024, at the Chhobi-o-Ghor Art Gallery, Kolkata. This exhibition, organized by COG India Art Foundation, aims to inspire and celebrate the artistic abilities of children in two age groups, Group A (4-8 years) and Group B (8-16 years). The flagship Children Art Exhibition: Chapter – 4, now in its 4th edition, is a unique event organized by the COG India Art Foundation. This special exhibition aims to nurture, celebrate, and showcase the artistic talents of young minds while fostering a lifelong passion for art and creativity. By providing a platform for children to express themselves and share their artistic visions, we hope to inspire future generations of artists and art enthusiasts.

COG India Art Foundation has been a pioneer in the field of children’s art exhibitions and is dedicated to promoting Indian art and artists. With a strong network of over 1500 professional and amateur artists across the country, the foundation has made significant strides in the art world. They have organized numerous exhibitions in various cities throughout India, providing valuable exposure and opportunities for artists of all ages and backgrounds.

In addition to organizing events, COG India Art Foundation runs the state-of-the-art Chhobi-o-Ghor Art Gallery in Kolkata, which serves as a hub for the development and appreciation of fine art. Through their blog, the foundation highlights artists and their works, offering a platform for art enthusiasts to learn more about the creative minds behind the masterpieces.

The foundation also offers a range of creativity courses designed to ignite passion and artistic skill development. By participating in the Children Art Exhibition: Avocado, young artists will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, learn from experienced artists, and showcase their talents to a wider audience.

  • Application and Submission:

    • To participate, children must apply and submit 5 original paintings or drawings created by themselves.
    • Please ensure that the artworks are completed solely by the child without any assistance. The first submission is a virtual submission (a photograph of the artwork) and it is included in the registration link
  • Judging Criteria:

    • Our esteemed judges will evaluate the artworks based on the child’s creativity, originality, and self-expression. The focus is on celebrating each child’s unique artistic perspective.
  • Selection Notification:

    • Once the judging process is completed, we will notify the parents or guardians via email about the selected artworks that will be showcased in the exhibition.
  • Exhibition Fee:

    • A fee of INR 500 per selected artwork is required for exhibiting the child’s work. This fee covers the cost of displaying the artwork during the event and contributes to the overall organization of the exhibition. 

  • Final Registration Process:

    • Upon payment of the exhibition fee, you will be guided through a final registration process to confirm your child’s participation in the event.
  • Artwork Submission and Framing:

    • The original selected artworks must be submitted with suitable framing at Chhobi-o-Ghor Art Gallery by the mentioned time that will be communicated to you.
  • Exhibition Inauguration:

    • The exhibition will be inaugurated on July 19 at 5:30 pm. We invite all participants, their families, and art enthusiasts to join us in celebrating the young talents.
  • Workshops for Children:

    • During the exhibition, we will be hosting engaging and educational workshops for children. 
      20 July – Sculpting with modular clay (6pm – 7:30pm)
      21 July – Collage painting (4pm – 5:30pm)
  • Ending Ceremony and Artwork Collection:

    • The closing ceremony will take place on July 21, starting at 6:30 pm. All participants and their families are invited to attend. Please ensure that the exhibited artworks are collected on the same day.
  • Artwork Medium and Style

    • Artworks can be created using any medium, such as pencil sketch, watercolor, acrylic, or oil paints.

    Size Requirements

    • The size of the painting should not exceed A3 size (12in x 18in). Larger artworks may require a different fee structure.

    Framing Guidelines

    • Frames must be suitable and should be limited by wood , white, black, or brown colors.
    • Frame width should not exceed 1.5 inches.
    • If a mount is used, it should not be wider than 1 inch.

    Originality and Authenticity

    • All submitted artworks must be original creations by the child and not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks.
    • Parents or guardians must ensure that the child completes the artwork without any assistance.

    Submission Deadlines

    • Adhere to the submission deadlines for both the application and the physical artwork to ensure smooth processing and inclusion in the exhibition. The last date of submission is 16 July 2023, However, submit as fast as possible.

    Artwork Collection

    • All exhibited artworks must be collected on the final day of the event ie. 21 JULY 2023 during the specified time period.

    Safety and Respect

    • Participants and their families must adhere to the event’s code of conduct, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all attendees.

    Changes and Updates

    • Stay informed about any changes or updates to the event, including scheduling, rules, and regulations, by regularly checking the event website or contacting the organizers.
  • Free Entry and Encouraging Attendance

    • Entry to the gallery is free for all visitors, allowing friends, family, and art enthusiasts to experience the exhibition without any barriers.
    • Parents and children are encouraged to invite their friends, relatives, teachers, neighbors, and others to view the exhibition and support the young artists.
    • By extending invitations to those in their community, participants can help create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that celebrates the power of art and the talent of the young artists on display.
  • Promoting the Event on Social Media

    • We encourage parents, children, and attendees to share their experiences and the artworks on display through social media. 

    Photography and Videography Guidelines

    • While we welcome attendees to capture memories of the event, please be mindful of other visitors and follow any posted photography and videography guidelines. Always ask for permission before taking photos or recording videos of others, and respect their wishes.

    Supporting Young Artists

    • Encourage your children to continue pursuing their artistic passions beyond the exhibition. Offer praise and constructive feedback, and consider enrolling them in art classes or workshops to further develop their skills.
